Legal Services for Startups and Scale-Ups.
AI, Technology and Commercial Law.

Who we work with
Built for where you are now
Legal risk does not wait for a convenient moment. These packages are designed for the stages where the decisions you make — or avoid — have the longest-lasting consequences.
Pre-seed and pre-revenue founders
You have a product idea, a co-founder, and your first customer conversation on the horizon. You need the legal foundations in place before you sign anything — done properly by someone who understands the commercial reality of an early-stage business, not a template service.
Founders Foundations · £1,500 +VAT →Seed-stage businesses closing their first serious deals
You are negotiating your first SaaS agreements, outsourcing contracts, commercial contracts or licensing arrangements. The other side has a legal team. You need someone who has sat across that table — at Fortune 500 level — and knows where the risk actually sits.
Scale-Up Pack · £3,500 +VAT →AI-powered startups building or deploying AI products
EU AI Act enforcement begins 2 August 2026. Yes, it's relevant to UK businesses. Your investor diligence will include AI governance questions. Your vendor and customer contracts need AI-specific provisions that standard templates do not contain. An AI tool can tell you what the law says. It cannot advise on what it means for your product, your contracts, or your diligence — and it cannot sign a legal opinion.
AI Startup Pack · £5,000 +VAT →In-house legal teams at scale-ups
You have a legal function but it is stretched. You need specialist AI law, commercial and technology contracting support that sits outside your team's current expertise. RMOK Legal works as an embedded partner, not an external firm charging by the hour for every email.
Monthly advisory retainer · from £750 +VAT/mo →How it works
A process with no grey areas
Four steps from first contact to completed engagement. You know what happens at each stage, what it costs, and what you receive.
Discovery call
30 minutes, no charge. We establish your situation, your immediate legal priorities, and which package is the right fit. If none of the standard packages works, we will tell you and propose an alternative.
Scope confirmed, invoice issued
You receive a written scope confirmation and a fixed-price invoice before any work begins. No ambiguity. A 50% deposit is required to reserve the engagement slot; the balance is due on delivery.
Engagement delivered
Work is delivered via shared document exchange and video advisory calls. You deal directly with Rory throughout. Target delivery timelines apply subject to agreed scope and client information being provided on time.
Action plan and next steps
Every engagement closes with a written action plan. For clients with ongoing commercial activity, the monthly advisory retainer is available as a natural continuation — no re-pitching, no handover friction.

Why RMOK Legal
What sets this apart
You know the price before the work begins
Every package has a defined scope and a fixed price, confirmed in writing before a single hour is spent. The invoice you receive at the end matches the invoice you were sent at the start. If scope changes, we agree a fixed fee for that change before it proceeds.
You deal directly with Rory — every time
Some providers operate at scale by routing work to teams of associates. Every RMOK Legal engagement is led directly by Rory O'Keeffe. Former Partner at Matheson (European law firm). Former Director of Legal Services at Accenture. Recognised in Legal 500. SCL AI Committee member. Author of AI Advantage. That is the experience you are buying — applied directly to your business.
AI governance is a specialism, not a module
The AI Startup Pack is led by an SCL-accredited IT lawyer who sits on the SCL AI Committee and has spoken at the SCL Data Conference, LegalTechTalk and Eyes-Off Data Summit. AI governance is not an add-on to a generalist practice — it is a defined area of expertise built over years. If you are building an AI product, that distinction is the difference between advice and informed advice.
SRA-regulated — with professional indemnity cover
Not all legal services providers are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Rory O'Keeffe is. That means professional conduct standards, complaints procedure, and professional indemnity insurance. For investors, acquirers, and enterprise customers asking questions about your legal arrangements, the regulatory distinction matters.
